It’s the little things

Sure, when you’re on a weight-loss journey, the usual indicator of success or failure is the reading on the scale. Too often we forget there are other measures of success. The tape measure is one good way to tell what’s happening, especially when the scale doesn’t budge. The way your clothes fit is another way. Getting into a pair of jeans you haven’t been able to fit into for a few years is always a great motivator. Today, for me, the little thing was being able to button up blouse I haven’t been able to button in far too long. I have worn this blouse, but always with a T-shirt underneath it and the buttons unbuttoned. No way was I going to get those buttons closed and have them stay that way before I lost 35 pounds. This morning, on a whim, I decided to put the blouse on. I was ecstatic to find that I could not only button the buttons easily, but I actually had some room in the shirt. It’s the little things…

Would you like to say something?
